Custom Ceramic Mugs FAQ - Logo Printing, MOQ, Customization & Process

Update Time:2026/7/13

Can I Put My Own Logo or Custom Design on Your Ceramic Mugs?

Yes. Storiware offers full OEM and ODM services for bulk ceramic mug orders, with MOQ starting at 3,000 pieces per design.

You can have your logo, brand design, or custom artwork applied to any of our standard mug shapes and sizes. We support multiple decoration methods including screen printing, decal transfer, custom glaze matching, and metallic accents. The process begins with artwork submission, followed by a pre-production sample for your approval before mass production. View our standard mug range

What Customization Options Are Available?

Six main options: screen printing, decal transfer, custom glaze color, custom packaging, shape customization, and gold/metallic accents.

Screen printing is best for simple 1-4 color logos and is economical for large quantities. Decal transfer is ideal for full-color designs with unlimited colors and gradients, fired at 750-850 degrees C for permanent fusion. Custom glaze matching uses Pantone reference with 200+ formulations. Custom packaging options include branded color boxes, kraft boxes, and poly bags. Shape customization requires a custom mold (CNC-machined, +/-0.5mm tolerance). Gold and metallic accents are applied at 600-700 degrees C for premium finishes. What Can Go Wrong With Custom Logo Mugs?

Four common issues: poor adhesion, color mismatch, position inconsistency, and fading after use.

Poor adhesion happens when the third firing temperature is too low or the glaze surface is not clean. Color mismatch occurs when generic ink formulations are used instead of custom-matched ceramic pigments. Position inconsistency means the logo is placed at different heights on different mugs within the same batch. Fading indicates the ceramic pigments were not fired at the correct temperature. At Storiware, we prevent all of these through proper process control, testing decoration adhesion with 5,000 weighted wiping cycles and verifying dishwasher durability through 200 commercial dishwasher cycles.

What Is the Custom Mug Process?

Six steps: design submission, artwork review, sample production, sample approval, mass production, and final inspection.

Send your artwork in AI, PDF, or PNG format (minimum 300 DPI). Our technical team reviews the design for print feasibility and color separation. A pre-production sample is created on the actual mug body for your approval. Once approved, mass production begins with in-process quality checks. Every mug is visually inspected, with AQL 2.5 sampling per ISO 2859. Total lead time from design approval to shipment is typically 25-35 days. Browse our mug materials

What Is the Minimum Order Quantity?

3,000 pieces per design. This applies to each unique design, shape, or color combination.

The MOQ exists because mold creation, artwork setup, and color matching require the same preparation regardless of order size. For smaller quantities, contact us to discuss available standard molds and blank mug options that may accommodate your order.
